Community Engagement, Social Responsibility and Social Work Profession Emerging Scope and Prospects
Community engagement is a relatively new concept for social work practitioners, as compared to community organisation whereas the issue of social responsibility has emerged as a recent tenet in development paradigm. The present volume comprises selected papers, presented in 3rdIndian Social Work Congress (ISWC) 2015 on Community Engagement, Social Responsibility and Social Work Profession. It presents a complete spectrum of the concepts of community engagement and social responsibility as well as examines the intricacies of interrelationships between trilogy of community engagement, social responsibility and social work profession.
Prof. R. B. S. Verma is well known social work educator, versatile writer and dedicated community worker. He has taught at University of Lucknow, Udaipur School of Social Work and Jain Vishva Bharti Institute, Ladnun. He was Orgainising Secretary of 3rd Indian Social Work Congress. He is currently Vice President of National Association of Professional Social workers in India (NAPSWI) and Chief Editor of Journal of Social Work Education, Research and Action.
Dr. Atul Pratap Singh is Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) at Department of Social work, Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, University of Delhi. His areas of interest include Social Work Education, Community Work, Human Resource Development and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Dr. Jitendra K. Verma is working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work, Jain Vishva Bharati Institute, Ladnun. His area of interest is Community Work and Social Enterprise Development.
